Terms and Conditions

By using https://la-academia.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

These terms cover the website only. Training at the gym is covered by the membership agreement and the waiver you sign there.

The site is run by La Academia Jiu Jitsu (La Academia de Jiujitsu LLC), 1056 C. Fernández Campos, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00907. You can reach us at hola@la-academia.com.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean La Academia Jiu Jitsu. "You" means anyone who uses the site.

The site is here to tell you about our classes, schedule, prices, coaches and location, and to help you get in touch or sign up.

You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. The site has no accounts and takes no payments.

We try to keep the site accurate, but the schedule, prices, programs and coaches can change without notice.

If the site and the gym's own records disagree, the gym's records prevail. If something matters to your plans, check with us by email or WhatsApp before you come.

Memberships, day passes, signup and payments happen on GymDesk (https://la-academia.gymdesk.com), a third-party service. Our site only links there.

When you buy or sign up on GymDesk, GymDesk's own terms and privacy policy apply, together with the terms of your membership with us. Prices shown on our site are for information; the price at checkout on GymDesk is the one that applies.

Jiu Jitsu is a contact sport. Training carries a real risk of injury, including serious injury.

Every member and drop-in signs a waiver and release at the gym before training. Nothing on this site replaces that waiver, and nothing on this site is medical advice. Talk to a doctor before you start if you have any health concerns.

Minors train only with the consent of a parent or guardian, signed at the gym.

The La Academia name and logo, and the photos, text, graphics and design of the site, belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. They are protected by copyright and trademark law.

You may share links to our pages. You may not copy, change, sell or reuse our logo, photos or text without our written permission.

The site links to services we do not control, such as GymDesk, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze and Moovit.

We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

When you use the site, please do not:

• break any law or anyone else's rights;
• try to get into parts of the site or its systems that are not public;
• disrupt the site, overload it, or spread malware;
• scrape or copy the site in bulk, or use automated tools in a way that harms it;
• send us spam, abusive or misleading messages, or pretend to be someone else.

We provide the site "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or free of errors.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss that comes from using the site or relying on its content, including a class you missed because the schedule changed.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Any dispute about the site or these terms will be heard in the courts located in Puerto Rico, and you agree to their jurisdiction.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.
